Rewind: HITCHCOCK

I really enjoyed this movie directed by Sacha Gervasi and starring great Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren, Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Biel, Toni Colette and Danny Huston.   The setting is 1959 and Hitchcock (Anthony Hopkins) and his wife, Alma (Helen Mirren) are at the top of their creative game as filmmakers despite the fact that the various studios are suggesting that Hitchcock should retire. But Hitchcock has another film in his head - PSYCHO - and despite the fact that everyone including Alma believes the film cannot be made with the current censorship and because the story is tasteless Hitchcock decides to bankroll his own film and proceed. JULIE WEISS ("Get Low", "Bobby", "Hollywoodland", "The Missing", "Frida", "American Beauty", "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas") made such a good job on this movie and her costumes were absolutely perfect. Loved the colors, loved the shapes, loved the freshness. Every single details were accurate and flawless and everyone looked perfect even doing gardening. Obviously Mr. Hitchcok couldn't wear anything else then its immaculate black suit with white shirt, black tie, a cigar and a cup of tea in his hand. From this summer season you could take inspiration from this movie and put in your wardrobe pencil and pleated skirts, light floral blouses with comfy cardigans and straight ankle short trousers, ballerinas, one tone dresses with important and in plain sight collar better worn with matching belt, and last but not least silk foulards, spectacles and sunglasses.
