Chosen Around the World : MALAHIERBA - Barcelona

Behind sweet and dreamy MALAHIERBA collections there's a young and enthusiastic "duo" from Barcelona: Marijo Torres & Jesús Moreno. The aim of Malahierba designers is to "create nice clothes for smart people". Malahierba made its debut with 2008 fall/winter collection during  Bread & Butter tradeshow in Barcelona with a Paris inspired collection called "Le Pain Quotidien".
Marijo and Jesús love pattern and we love too...the original illustrations are inspired by art movements and the whole wardrobe use classic, soften colors who give the entire collection a retro style.
Malahierba is entirely designed and produced in Barcelona where you can find their cozy showroom and nowadays it's sold in 30 corners around Barcelona, as in Gante (Belgium) and Zurich (Switzerland).
For this summer 2012 collection - HOLIDAY IN BIARRITZ - Malahierba duo were inspired by the retro allure of seaside french location Biarritz. Starting from XIX century Biarritz became a renowned place as soon as doctors started recommended its ocean waters for their therapeutic proprieties. Aristocrats and bourgeois made pilgrims during the year to this healthy location and Biarritz was chosen by  Empress Eugenie (the wife of Napoleon III who built a place on the beach - now Hotel du Palais),  Queen VictoriaEdward VII and Alfonso XIII of Spain; but also famous fashion designer as Coco Chanel and Jean Patou, as well as Paul Poiret were Biarritz haunter.
